In 2018 Marni opens the doors launching 4 new stores around the world. Each store has been represented by exclusive custom made papier machè sculptures, 1 per store on each city.
The goal was to promote stores opening by creating individual storytelling based on the city every store is located.
For Florence: to focus on a hen as the store in Florence has been represented by exclusive custom made papier machè sculpture of a chicken. To create and develop an illustrated hen-character. To use character to produce illustrated and animated materials.
Matt Blease drew an individual storytelling based on the city and exploring the concept expressed in his specific style, illustrated with humour and fantasy Florence, in its own charm as well as the beauty of its architecture. The artist pictured a Florence populated by black and white drawn chickens doing funny stuff inside the city.
The star is a chicken, in particular, walking down the street, entering Marni store and surprisingly happy coming out after shopping with coloured accessories – which were available on Florence store in that moment. Funnily excited the Marni chicken exits the store pimping around.
The film sound is a comic jazz in a 50s mood.
