For upcoming Carbonara Day (6th of April) to develop creative concept and produce gif images and stickers to celebrate one of the most iconic Italian pasta recipes. Final materials to be suitable for usage on IG Stories + Facebook moderation. The goal is to reach Ig Stories having them promoting the use of it and get viral. To use typography and animated icons in delivery visuals. To make the project understandable and easy for the audience to use.
When it comes to Instagram food trends, pasta is always on top of the list.
People cook it, love it and share it with their beloved and friends in the most creative ways.
What makes Carbonara so special? It has the power to encapsulate both the simplicity and genuineness of its ingredients and the richness of its taste.
Mauro Gatti, Min Liu, Julianna Szabo, Gambette, Balmer Hählen Studio and SuperExpresso feat The Rocket Panda: these are the 6 talents selected by Pink Salt. Artists gave their personal style and interpretation to the famous Pasta dish: Carbonara spins a new creative round of art in movement.
The final gifs and stickers are easy to spread around and share with your friends: just have an Instagram account and select, within the options panel for the Stories, “GiF”: search the hashtags #Carbonara or #Barilla. The search will work also with #Spaghetti and #Pasta for pasta lovers.
Mauro Gatti is an Italian illustrator now living in Los Angeles known for his “tailor made” emojis and his playful and catchy style, for the Carbonara Day, he creates a scene of a game among the ingredients: Bacon and Pecorino, will entertain a happy jumping egg, thanks to a spaghetto used as a rope.
Min Liu is Taiwanese motion designer, who lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Her focus is on traditional animation, she plays with negative spaces and strong colors palette, with her unique and dark sense of humor, creating animations characterized by a strong visual. Unique and recognisable.
Julianna Szabo an Hungarian paper artist, now living in London. For this celebration, she created the first handcrafted paper moji ever done: this is a paper sculpture build by hand and animated in stop motion representing a dancing fork spinning like a ballet dancer while rolling up the pasta, all made by paper, emphasizing the simplicity and richness of the Carbonara sauce.
Anne-Claire Gambet aka Gambette is a designer and French Art Director. Her world is disruptive, colorful, irreverent and her Carbonara responds to the rules of her imagination: bizarre and playful, she presents the ingredients of the traditional recipe interpreted by characters joining a party: Mr. Eggs, Mrs Spaghetti, Mr. Bacon, Lady Pecorino and Pepper Man.
Balmer Hählen is a studio founded in 2011 by Priscilla Balmer and Yvo Hählen and established since 2013 in the heart of Lausanne. The work of this duo is strongly influenced by the Swiss graphic tradition and identified by a geometric and typographic approach. They are known for their work characterized by bold typography, bright patterns and deconstructed shapes. In the occasion of Carbonara Day their work stands out from the others: they built a minimalistic animation with a very powerful visual taste; with an hypnotic turn over and with a kaleidoscopical game, typographic elements are mixed up with the ingredients of this tasty dish.
Superexpresso is an Italian artist who studied painting, then visual and industrial design. He moved to Barcelona and now lives and works in NY. He prefers to experiment with new ways more than following existing trends. He believes in a hand-crafted approach to design and he loves the contrast between modern tools and classic “human” techniques.
For Carbonara Day together with Riccardo Albertini aka the Rocket Panda, Italian animator based in Verona, represents the famous dish in an artistic-psychedelic key. His style is a digital collage of ingredients from the traditional, Italian recipe.
