The name of the city Düsseldorf stands for two separated parts “Dussel” and “Dorf”; it is a city based on contrasts. From one side it is minimal, synthetic, clean and structured; from another it is a chaotic, raw, natural and playful place. Düsseldorf is a significant landmark when it comes to art and culture; and the architecture is an outstanding part of it. The spirit of the city makes it a special destination for prominent creative talents from different fields. The architectural ensemble of the city is a celebration of diversity. The city have a respect to its heritage but at the same time it pays a tribute to modernity with Frank O. Gehry ensemble, architectural synergy of the Kö-Bogen I and II and top of Königsallee.
Among other things, Düsseldorf has a unique music scene combining electronic and punk music. What’s more, Düsseldorf is home to such pioneers of the electronic genre as Kraftwerk and the Toten Hosen – the world famous bands of the punk scene.Another significant band from Düsseldorf NEU! influenced artists such as David Bowie, Blur, Placebo, Sonic Youth and Stereolab.
“No time to stop, history is being made”, sang Fehlfarben, a band who also got together in Düsseldorf.
Geometrics patterns in the project was inspired by architecture of Düsseldorf mixture with spatial typography and bright stunning colours to create a strong image. Bauhaus design influence the creative concept for the project in order to highlife the modern vibe to the visuals.
As a final outcome the graphics reflects the city spirit together with being relatable for the MTV audience and presenting itself contemporary and remarkable key visual.
